About Empower Over 50

Empower Over 50 is a platform for people over 50 who are rethinking work, identity, and what comes next.

It exists because the questions that show up later in life are often different from the ones we’re prepared for. Careers change. Roles shift. Assumptions about security, relevance, and direction get tested. Empower Over 50 is about engaging with those questions honestly—and moving forward with intention.

The project shows up in a few simple ways.

On YouTube, I publish weekly conversations focused on work, identity, reinvention, and the realities of navigating change after 50.

The blog expands on those conversations through written reflection, along with standalone essays exploring similar themes in more depth.

The newsletter is a quieter extension of the work—occasional notes sharing observations, practical insight, and perspective for people navigating the next chapter of work and life.

I’m Max Farnon.

Empower Over 50 grew out of my own experience of long-term work, unexpected change, and the process of reassessing direction later in life. I’m not offering formulas or quick fixes. I’m sharing lived experience, asking better questions, and building something grounded for people who know life is more complex than most advice makes it sound.

In February, I’ll be publishing a book titled Coming Home After 50: A Journey of Rediscovery. The book brings these themes together in a more personal, reflective form—exploring work, identity, loss, creativity, and the process of finding direction again after 50.

Empower Over 50 isn’t about starting over.
It’s about reclaiming momentum, direction, and purpose—and actively shaping what comes next.
